What I appreciate in Julias classes is the gentle warm up and the way the practice develops and extends during the class. As we get older and more creaky it’s essential to keep all the joints and muscles as mobile and flexible as possible. I come out of each practice feeling that my various aches and niggles have eased and the class energises me for the day.

Julia’s classes are inspiring, uplifting and energising. Her live classes are very inclusive and responsive to individual needs and create a lovely feeling of group activity and learning.

Julia’s yoga class is the only formal exercise I have ever really enjoyed and I have been going along twice a week for the past three years.  Not only do I look and feel better but I have become much more inclined to look after myself both mentally and physically.  My fellow students are great fun and very supportive.  What I really like is how Julia individually modifies the postures to give each of us maximum benefit, taking account of our limitations. I’m always amazed by the variety of the classes. Her regular attendance at workshops means that there is usually something new to pass on.

Julia is a terrific yoga teacher.  She is clear and calm in her leadership of the sessions,  patient with the less flexible while challenging those who want or need to be stretched a little more.  I have been in her class for five years, and hope to be for many more.

I always feel much better after a teaching session with Julia. I usually arrive tense and as stiff as a board. Afterwards, I stand straighter, my head’s not screwed on as tightly and my joints feel ‘well-oiled’.

I always enjoy the variety of the classes as Julia makes an effort not to slip into routine sequences. I never feel pressurised to try postures that are beyond my capability but always feel suitably challenged. I respect her knowledge of anatomy which feeds back into a deeper understanding of the benefits of yoga. I appreciate Julia’s respect for individual needs which creates stimulating yet safe classes with a genuinely warm and supportive atmosphere.”

As a Physical Education and Dance teacher, I find Julia’s yoga lessons a real joy. Her instructions are really clear and her ability to modify and personalise postures to meet individual needs shows in depth knowledge of the practice and the anatomy of the human body which I totally respect. Julia’s friendly and warm personality mean the lessons have an atmosphere that is pleasantly informal and leaves me feeling so much better.

My GP recommended that I try yoga with Julia after I had been suffering for some time from a bad attack of sciatica.

With the ski season approaching I was keen to be in top form!

Julia immediately identified the source of my pain and put together a programme to increase my strength and mobility.

I am glad to say that my sciatica has now disappeared, my flexibility has vastly improved and my wife is jealous that I am a little thinner!

I greatly enjoy the one-to-one sessions with Julia which seem to be over all too quickly – this must be a good sign! She radiates calm, explains movements clearly and her approach is methodical. I soon know when I haven’t done any yoga classes as I become very stiff and injury prone.

I have practised yoga for a number of years but have sometimes suffered from lower back pain as a result. Julia was clear she would focus on practising postures with me that would strengthen but not strain my back. I have practiced the postures she taught me between two and four times a week since we started and I’ve found my back feels more flexible and strong. So much so, I will continue to incorporate her teachings into my yoga practice.

I have been to numerous classes that involve yoga breathing techniques, but I‘ve never felt I’ve properly mastered it. Julia’s demonstration and guidance was very clear. The breathing techniques she taught me have proved invaluable.

Following my first session, I tore a ligament in my ankle. Julia took care to readjust my therapy postures and incorporated some exercises to help rehabilitate my ankle, which have been very useful in keeping it supple during the healing process.

Julia’s clear guidance meant I could finally master yoga breathing techniques and new postures with ease, which will prove invaluable for my continuing yoga practice and in everyday life. She was sensitive to how I felt both physically and emotionally throughout our sessions and always adjusted their content so that I was comfortable.

About a year ago I twisted my back and neck very badly. As a result I was experiencing back spasms, shooting neck pain and extreme stiffness throughout my entire body. I also experienced a feeling of numbness and altered sensation throughout my body. On top of this I have always suffered with health anxiety, which certainly made matters worse for me.

To rectify the situation I saw chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, surgeons, acupuncturists and every other specialist under the sun for a period of six months with limited effect. After struggling to work every day and finding it hard to sit at my desk for more than 10 minutes and spending nearly a month in bed, I was directed to Julia. By this point I was extremely depressed, anxious, uncomfortable and close to giving up.

Over an 8-month period via the use of yoga therapy Julia helped strengthen my core, reduce my back and neck pain and improve my health anxiety. She is an extremely skilled yoga therapist with great patience and endeavour. Julia is a game changer!!
